I Sat On His Lap

Not sure how we met, but we planned on spending the weekend together. Dinner with friends one night, his family the next. We went to a bar for a drink before we met up with friends, and I sat on his lap and listened to the music playing overhead. The two songs I remember are Everything I Do for You (Bryan Adams) and Sour Times (Portishead). We started to sway just a little while the latter song played, and I immediately felt attracted to him (note: Matt Damon is not my type). I looked over at the next table and there was Queen Latifah. She and Matt nodded “hi.” We left after the song ended and he asked if I noticed the songs that played. I said a little, but it was the Portishead song that really got to me. I was going to ask him if he had any memories associated with that song, but in my dream, Matt was way younger than I, so he would have been in elementary school when that song came out, so, yeah, no. He then told me that he put together a five-song playlist and gave it to the DJ to play for me. WHY Bryan Adams (especially that song) was included is beyond me. Anyway, we were both feeling a bit amorous, and we decided to head to his house. I felt drunk, but I hadn’t had a drink; he had one. While we were waiting for the elevator in the parking lot, I got into a heated argument with some White dude about being in a class where Spanish was spoken and how I knew he hated it. Yeah, that part came out of left field. Anyway, as we pull up to the house, I see a police car and a police officer pulling someone out of Matt's house. He said he was his special-needs brother and that he didn’t want his brother in the house while we were there. I immediately sobered up and told him peace out; there was no way I could be with anyone who treats family like that. I was so angry and wanted to cry, but the tears wouldn’t flow. I hoped it was some sort of sick “test” he was putting me through to see if I was genuine. But he never apologized or felt bad for what he did. And that’s how I realized Matt Damon is a jerk.
